The Not Alone Project

We are authors coming together to promote peace, love, and diversity for those who now feel afraid or unwanted in America and throughout the world.

Hello, and thank you for coming to learn more about our project. In the wake of the recent U.S. election, many of us feel afraid, angry, sad, and desperately want to find a peaceful, loving way to help our country’s most at risk populations. The Not Alone Project seeks to bring writers from all walks together by first publishing an anthology of collected short stories, essays, and poems to be released on Inauguration Day, January 20. All proceeds from the collection will be donated to the Trevor Project, an organization that does amazing work to protect LGBTQ youth.
As writers, we have been blessed with the gift of words. We have a voice. Now it is time to lend that voice to those who find themselves being silenced. This anthology is not meant to be a political protest. It is not meant to be an us-versus-them declaration. In fact, we welcome all authors, no matter how you voted or what your personal political or religious beliefs. If you would like to join us in joining together to support those who need it the most, then you are enthusiastically welcomed.
Our goal is simple: We want those who feel afraid and alone to know they will always have people who are willing to stand with them.
Although our selected charity is the Trevor Project, this is not an LGBT-only project. We welcome submissions that also share the experiences of and seek to support women, immigrants, minorities, the mentally ill, disabled, overweight, and indeed anyone who may now feel themselves and others like them being singled out or otherwise find themselves as a member of an at-risk population.
This anthology is inclusive. We welcome as many authors as would like to participate in spreading our message of love and hope. If this includes you, please enter your email address below. Once you do, you will automatically be redirected to our Facebook group where we will plan and share new info as it comes. We are still in the very early stages of planning, but will have a full submission form available soon.
Thank you for being willing to share your talent and passion with us,
Melissa Storm & P.K. Tyler

About Us

Our world is not black and white, and our fiction shouldn't be either! That's why Broad Winged Books celebrates colorful, tough, and unforgettable characters from all walks of life. When you pick up one of our books, you pick up a little slice of life, sometimes true to the world around us and sometimes rife with demons, witches, and the undead. After all, books--like love--should be fun, unexpected, and full of passion.
